DENVER — Summit Lacrosse Ventures has announced the 2022 FNDURSUMT Tour and named Gait Lacrosse as the presenting sponsor in a collaboration that will give lacrosse fans a sideline view into world-class tournaments and showcases taking place this coming summer.
Kicking off at the annual Rocky Mountain Jamboree, the 2022 FNDURSUMT Tour will capture action, scenery and the unforgettable memories made across a trek to each of Summit Lacrosse Ventures’ ten events spanning early June to early August.
Teaming up with one of the most recognized and trusted names in the game, Summit Lacrosse Ventures has joined forces with Gait Lacrosse to present the first ever edition of the tour, which will be led by Summit’s longtime staff and media team and will feature photos, videos and updates from an adventurous path through the summer lacrosse season.
“We work with a team of people who love lacrosse and you can see their passion for it in the way we present the game to those within the lacrosse world and those outside of it,” said Kevin Leveille, Brand & Event Manager for SLV.
“We’re fired up to have an aligned vision for creating content to share the experiences of players of all ages—from 7 to 75 years old—at our tournaments in 2022.”
Gait Lacrosse was developed years ago by Paul Gait, who alongside his twin brother, Gary, transformed the game as a star at Syracuse University and then by way of a long, storied professional and international career on the field and in the box arena. All the while as a player, Paul developed innovations in stick technology and stick stringing that helped define the game as we know it today—both the men’s and the women’s game.
Relaunched in 2018 under Paul’s leadership and now based in Albany, Gait Lacrosse is developing and distributing some of the most technologically advanced and proven gear in the sport, backed by years of insight and experience at the highest levels. Gait Lacrosse currently outfits many standout players and teams through partnerships with the National Lacrosse League and numerous college lacrosse programs.
“It’s energizing for us to bring on Gait Lacrosse as the lead sponsor for what will be an incredible journey featuring lacrosse players and lacrosse fans from all over the continent making memories at our events,” Leveille added. “We’ve known the good people at Gait Lacrosse for a long time and look forward to what we have in store for the summer.”
Additionally, Summit has gone outside of the sport of lacrosse to bring on YETI, Motive Pure, HyperIce and Hot Crispy Oil as supporting sponsors of the 2022 FNDURSUMT Tour in a remarkable grouping of powerful brands.
A cutting-edge and high-profile manufacturer of coolers, tumblers and other lifestyle goods, YETI is based in Austin, Texas, and has a world-wide footprint. Hyperice, a leading designer of recovery and relief technology for athletes of all levels, is headquartered in Southern California.
A longtime fixture at Summit events and with deep connections to the sport of lacrosse, Motive Pure offers healthy, convenient electrolyte hydration. And a newcomer to the game, Hot Crispy Oil, a business out of Albany gaining traction nationwide, makes delicious olive-oil based condiments and cooking ingredients.
“It’s humbling and exciting for us to be attracting these innovative companies from across all types of industries as they realize the golden opportunity to put their brand in front of thousands of lacrosse players and their families,” said Leveille, whose father, George co-founded the Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic in 1990.
Leveille pointed out that the company has been collecting and sharing content and working with local and national media since the Summit Classic’s inception as a destination tournament in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains.
Since then, Summit Lacrosse Ventures has blossomed into a coast-to-coast operation, with events slated this summer in California, Colorado, Maryland and New York. Starting in Denver and wrapping up in Lake Placid, the FNDURSUMT Tour will make additional stops at the Tahoe Summit Classic, the Saratoga Shootout, the Northstar Capital City Classic, the Lake Placid Youth Summit Classic, Lax Federation Member’s Cup, the Niagara Classic, the Northstar Showcase and the Happy Lax Tournament.
Leveille and his team will hit the ground running this summer with hope of driving tremendous value and exposure to the Gait, YETI, Hyperice, Motive Pure and Hot Crispy Oil brands.
“While we’re providing valuable and memorable opportunities for our participants, the stories coming out of our events over the course of a summer can transcend sports,” Leveille said.
“This tour will highlight the wide net we cast and will celebrate the dynamic population that helps define this culture and community over the course of a few months. We’re excited to get the show on the road.”
